---- DAZ 1.10 Docs ----
Daz is an IFF-ILBM viewer. It supports ExtraHalfBrite, HAM,
color-cycling, overscan. It may be invoked from either the
WorkBench or the CLI. It requires that you have version 34
or later of the ARP.library.
From the CLI
Any number of pictures may be specified on the command-line when Daz
is invoked from the CLI. The limit is the number of characters you
can fit on a line, which is 255. If no file is specified a
file-requestor will come up in the current directory. Select the
picture you wish to see by double-clicking on it (or use the 'OKAY'
gadget). From the menu, the following options are available:
Open select another picture to view
Cyle this toggles color-cycling on/off
Pointer toggles visibility of the pointer
Quit closes picture and returns to CLI
The command template is:
IFF_PIC/...,C=CYCLE/S,SECS=SECONDS/K
The switch 'CYCLE' (or optionally 'C') may appear anywhere
on the command line after 'Daz'.
To specify a timer, you MUST use the keyword 'SECONDS' (or
optionally 'SECS'). This is a change from earlier incarnations.
Some examples:
Daz mypic c seconds 5 cycle mypic for 5 seconds and quit
Daz mypic secs 5 as above, only don't cycle
Daz c mypic cycle mypic until I quit
Daz pic0 pic1 c pic2 secs 10 cycle pic0-2 for 10 seconds each
Daz may be made resident. Although not 'pure' in the strictest
sense, all necessary initializations are handled internally.
from the WorkBench
The extend-select feature of WorkBench is supported. That is, you
may hold down the shift-key and single-click up to 32 icons. Any
errors will abort the entire selection. Use the 'Quit' option
from the menu to see the next picture (or wait for the timer to
return if specified--see below).
If the icon for Daz includes a 'WINDOW' tooltype this window will be
opened to report any error returns. If no errors occur this window
will NOT be opened.
The icons for the pictures themselves may specify whether you wish
the picture to cycle, and a length of time to show the picture.
The tooltypes are:
FLAGS=CYCLE if you wish the picture to cycle
SECS=<# of seconds to show it> to specify a time-interval
Note that if you specify a 'SECS' value the 'Quit' option in the
menu will be disabled. All other options are available (although
opening another picture while timed is not recommended, as the
timer may return and shut down your next selection).
If you open a picture-file from the file-requestor the tooltypes
will NOT be read. This is done so that you may set the tooltypes
and still not be bound to them.
